A Missionary Oblate Gift Annuity is a special kind of charitable gift.  It is a simple contract that allows someone 50 and above to support the Oblates’ ministries and receive  a FIXED annual payment for the lifetime of the donor and/or the lifetime of a loved one.

Gift Annuities, which can also be funded by stock, are an excellent choice to augment retirement income because they help assure that a donor won’t run out of income late in life.  In addition to an immediate tax deduction, the income may be partially tax-free, decreasing the amount of taxes you will have to pay.  You can receive payments immediately, or defer them until a later date.

The annuity rate is based on the donor’s age at the time the gift annuity is established.  Example:  The rate of return at the age of 77 is 8.3% - on a gift of $1,000 your annual return would be $83.00.  On a gift of $5,000, annual return would be $415.00.  The Oblates have been offering such annuities since the 1930s and have never missed a payment.

As an additional benefit to donors who remember the Oblates in their estate plans, the Oblates will pray for them worldwide.  These donors will be recognized as members of The Good Samaritan Society and listed in our annual report.  They will also receive the EXCLUSIVE personalized Good Samaritan Statue and be invitied to an annual dinner at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows.
