A Special Group for Special People!

This is the story of a girl named Edi, and how you can help her and thousands of needy children like her in this world…Edi was born to teenage parents living near Recife, Brazil.  At two years of age, blind and abandoned by her family, would Edi become another of the 12 million homeless children forced to fend for themselves on the streets of Brazil?

Fortunately, Edi did not end up on the streets.  When Fr. Ed Figueroa, O.M.I., learned that Edi’s future – and her life – were in danger, he welcomed her with open arms into his home.  In fact, he adopted her, and fifty other children like her, all orphaned and neglected on Brazil’s streets.

This story illustrates the life-giving ministry of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate.  Their work is made possible because of the prayers and financial aid given by friends, especially those with a sincere devotion to Mary, the Mother of God.  Mary’s Circle of Friends is a special group for people united in prayer, seeking her intercession for Oblate ministries.

Mary's Circle of Friends - Supports programs that receive funding through the Oblate Sharing Fund, a program that provides grants to Oblate and non-Oblate works among the poor. 

Members of Mary’s Circle of Friends receive a monthly letter detailing one of our Oblate mission sites and the struggles it faces.  Included is an Oblate Prayer Card  with a full-color photo of that month’s site and a prayer for members to recite.  Members are  asked to pray daily one Our Father, one Hail Mary, one Glory Be, and the simple intercession, Our Lady of the Snows, Pray for Us.  Oblates at each featured mission site pray for Mary’s Circle members throughout their month.
