Here in Belleville, the grass is turning greener and small buds are beginning to open. If those weren’t enough signs, I know spring is here by the number of birds that greet me every morning! Life is bursting around us. Renewal is everywhere. As our Earth rejuvenates, this is a perfect opportunity for a spiritual reawakening. This past February, I made a pilgrimage to Lourdes, where I prayed for your intentions. The quiet and solemnity of this sacred place filled me with peace. I hope you find the same. This issue of Oblates is filled with articles to help us revitalize our spirituality. Read about the international faith community at Lourdes, and how pilgrims from around the world pray for healing. Also, look for the article about Fr. Liam Griffin, O.M.I. He is one of nine Oblates who serve the thousands who travel to Lourdes each month. If you are personally finding your faith challenged, you might read “Finding God in Suffering.” This inspirational article will help you better understand we are faced with difficulties in our lives. Finally, we have added a new feature called the Lives of the Saints. Learn more about St. Jude, the patron saint of hopeless causes. He is one we turn to when our faith falters. I pray you use some time to reflect on your faith. I hope you enjoy this issue ... and the springtime! Gratefully in the Lord,
Father Tom Singer, O.M.I.
