Dear Friend,
As we continue on our Lenten Journey, I hope everyone remembers that the Lenten season offers all Christians an opportunity to prepare for Easter when Jesus sacrificed Himself for our sins and rose from the dead for us. Lent is a season of intense prayer, fasting, and sacrifice.
When I have difficulty during the 40 days of Lent, I try to think of my many Oblate brothers who are sacrificing everything every day so that they can bring God’s love to the poor.
Fr. Roberto Lacasse, O.M.I., ministers in the Parish of Saint Eugene de Mazenod, in Bolivia. It is a difficult mission. There are approximately 35,000 inhabitants in the area, 55% of whom are Catholic. The terrain is rugged; there are no paved roads, and water is scarce.
Fr. Roberto Lacasse, O.M.I., sacrifices everything to bring hope to the poor in Bolivia.
