How one woman wanted to share her blessings by helping restore the Lourdes Grotto at the Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows.
ary Nims, of St. Louis, Missouri, was always very active in her parish and in
volunteer activities.  However, now at 93 years of age, Mary spends much of her time at home and is not able to do the things she used to do.  Still, she makes sure to continue to visit and support the Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows as often as she can.  “It is just a beautiful place,” exclaims Mary.
Recently, Mary made several generous gifts to help restore the Lourdes Grotto at the Shrine.  She hopes that restoring the beautiful site will allow more people to share her love for Our Lady and the Shrine.  Mary says, “It warms my heart to know that I can give a little something back after receiving so many blessings.”
“My first visit to the Shrine was long before the Lourdes Grotto was built,” Mary explains.  She first visited the Shrine with several other women from her church.  From that day forward, the Shrine has touched her life in many ways.
“The Shrine is a lovely place and I want it to stay that way,” Mary explains. Now, thanks to the legacy and generosity of devoted pilgrims like Mary, the Shrine will continue to open its arms to faithful pilgrims for years to come.
