Honoring Mom
at the National Shrine of
Our Lady of the Snows

Traditionally, carnations have been used to symbolize love and gratitude on Mother’s Day. At the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows, this tradition finds new glory with one of the country’s largest displays of Mother’s Day carnations. An estimated 65,000 carnations will be on display this year, creating a stunning visual representation of filial love.

Friends of the Missionary Oblates arrange to have these carnations placed for their mothers. Each of the 65,000 blossoms represents someone’s prayerful tribute to their mom. The Missionary Oblates are honored to pray for all of the amazing mothers who have touched the lives of their children.

Pilgrims to the Shrine can view the entire display from May 7-8. Special Mother’s Day Masses will be held at 5:00 p.m. on May 7 at the Our Lady of the Snows Church, and 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on May 8 at the Outdoor Amphitheatre, weather permitting.

If you would like to have a carnation placed for your mother on Mother’s Day, visit www.oblates.org/mom or call 1-888-330-6264.
