Tota Pulchra was designed as a special tribute to the Blessed Mother for the 150th Anniversary of the proclamation of the Immaculate Conception. The National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows invites pilgrims to experience this wonderful display, which embodies the spirit of Our Lady.

The Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate also have a presentation video at the end of the exhibit. This video explores Oblate missionary work throughout the world, all done under the title of our patroness, Mary Immaculate.
Join the Shrine in celebrating this blessed anniversary. The exhibit is being held in the Guild Center at the Shrine until
May 8, Mother’s Day. The exhibit is open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Admission is always free. Any donations will go to support the Shrine and the worldwide Oblate ministries.
Visitors admire the vast display of images of the Blessed Mother in celebration of the Immaculate Conception.

The name of this exhibit, Tota Pulchra, was derived from the Latin name of the hymn for the feast of the Immaculate Conception. The phrase means “All Fair” and “Totally Beautiful.” The National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows has tried to capture this theme with the exhibit. With artwork from the greatest painters throughout time, Tota Pulchra exemplifies the beauty and love that radiates from our Blessed Mother.

Within the exhibit, visitors will find various depictions of the Immaculate Conception. Afterwards, pilgrims can meditate on Mary’s unbridled faith as they walk through a pictorial timeline of her life. This unique timeline features paintings that depict events from Mary’s Annunciation to her Assumption into heaven.
