Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate - Newsroom

Fr _john _message

Every day for the past several weeks, it seemed like we couldn’t turn on the television without seeing a horrible tragedy.  Hurricanes, earthquakes and violence have been the headlines almost every day.  It can truly be overwhelming.

To anyone in our extended Oblate family that has been affected by these recent tragedies, please know that the Missionary Oblates are remembering your needs in our prayers.  Today, we are praying for you as you recover from your difficulties.  We pray that you will find comfort in the healing presence of Jesus Christ.

Tragedy can test our faith.  It can also strengthen our faith.  As we learn from Scripture,“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”(Psalms 46:1)

Over the next several weeks, the Oblates here at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows will be remembering your needs during our daily Masses.  You can send us your prayer requestshere.  As we lift you up in prayer, I pray that your will be reminded that through our faith we never walk a difficult path alone.  May God bless you and keep you well.
